Site Reliability Engineer
Luigi's Box
🧑💻 About the role
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will
- Contribute to long-term reliability, resiliency and security of our services and infrastructure, as they scale to meet growing customer demand.
- Identify opportunities to improve these qualities and proactively address issues before they impact customers.
- Monitor services, refine processes and fine-tune alerting to enhance system observability while minimizing noise.
- Collaborate closely with the search, recommendation and other product teams.
- Help shape the future of our infrastructure, by helping out planning and executing migrations, transitioning parts of our AWS-managed stack to Kubernetes, preparing internal tooling to improve developer experience, refining deployment pipeline and creating runbooks for better incident response.
- Optionally participate in weekly on-call rotations later on.
💫 What makes you a great fit
- You are willing to take the topic of reliability, resiliency and security for your own.
- You do not get scared by the sound of CI/CD pipelines, canary deployments, large-scale migrations, zero-downtime, auto-scaling, pagers and incident post-mortems.
- You like learning new things, challenging yourself and the status quo, diving deep into the inner workings of the unknown.
- You understand the realities of technical debt and see it as an opportunity rather than ever-existing frustration or sins of the past.
- You get that hope is not a strategy.
- You thrive in a fast-moving workplace, do not get sidetracked by shifting priorities and are able to work in hybrid and remote teams.
- You are familiar with UNIX toolchain, networking, shell scripting; you know object-oriented programming, preferably in Ruby or Python and are open to learning. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis and Terraform IaC is a plus.
- You are not afraid to ask for help when needed.
- You are fluent in English.
