Data Scientist

Eliq AB

Hi there!

How would you like to build machine learning models that help utility companies accelerate the clean energy transition by transforming complex energy data into actionable insights for millions of people?

At Eliq, we build software that helps utilities modernize how they work with energy and customer data. We’re a fast-growing company serving 15+ utilities across multiple markets, and we’re on a mission to make energy smarter, more sustainable, and more accessible.

In this role, you’ll join our team as an experienced and hands-on Data Scientist. You will be responsible for shaping how users understand their energy consumption—shaping the "brain" of our product. You’ll work on models that enterprise customers and end-users depend on, and you’ll be part of a culture that values strong engineering fundamentals, actively using modern tooling and ML pipelines to speed up delivery while keeping accuracy, security, and maintainability high.

How you will spend your days:

  • Design, implement, test and deploy robust machine learning models for use cases like energy forecasting, peer comparisons, disaggregation, and carbon impact
  • Write clean, well-documented and production-ready code
  • Work directly with product managers and engineers to scope and deliver ML-powered features for end users and utility clients
  • Monitor model performance and iterate to improve accuracy, relevance and impact
  • Document solutions and provide coaching and support to team members

Who we think you are:

  • You build and operate models that are dependable in production—you care as much about the "science" as you do about the engineering (deployment, monitoring, and maintainability).
  • You take end-to-end ownership of your data products and follow through when model performance doesn’t behave as expected in the real world.
  • You ask the right questions early, understand the "why" behind the data, and drive work forward without micromanagement.
  • You collaborate well inside and across teams, helping translate complex statistical concepts into clear communication for stakeholders and clients.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software development or data science roles.
  • Deep proficiency in Python and SQL with a track record of deploying production-grade ML models.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: Experience with ML pipelines, version control, and cloud platforms (we use Azure/Databricks).
  • Data foundation: Experience or strong interest in time-series modeling and forecasting.
  • Clear communicator who can mentor others and align technical work with product goals.

What we bring to the table:

  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work (3 days in the office, 2 days remotely) from Gothenburg, Sweden
  • 25 business days of annual vacation
  • Annual team events together with our colleagues from Sweden, UK and other offices
  • Monthly salary range from 50000 to 61000 SEK gross

If you read this far, it is time to apply:

We think you’re excited to work with a team that moves fast, takes risks, and comes to work every day excited about building a product that affects the lives of millions of people, while helping to accelerate the transition to clean energy. We would love to hear from you!
